Intro to hydrotherapy

This week we are talking about hydrotherapy. The demands of your work, sport (recreational or school-related), and fitness routine require you to be available and ready for your duties even when you’re tired or sore. Wouldn’t it be nice if you could do something to help you train or work hard and feel better while doing so? This is where hydrotherapy comes into play!

Last week on the podcast (episode 51: Tomorrow’s a different day) we discussed a research article that looked at the benefits of hydrotherapy on recovery. We are going to continue that discussion this week but dedicate the whole episode to the topic.

Our discussion will include the following topics:

Different types of hydrotherapy

When is heat (aka, hot tub) beneficial.

When is cold (aka, ice tub) beneficial.

Is contrast water treatment (aka, intervals in the hot tub then the cold tub) beneficial?

Things to look out for when using this treatment approach.

We would love to hear your feedback on the topic. We are also happy to field questions you have on the topic. Just follow the link below to become a member and watch the brief video about how to participate at the top of the FMR tab. Otherwise, we’ll see you when the show drops on Friday.

Have a question, comment, thought, or idea? We’d love to hear it! Our members have the exclusive opportunity to leave a question or comment in the Forum. The FMR Team will answer/discuss these questions and comments on Fuel. Move. Recover. A Performance and Wellness Podcast., which drops every Friday at noon.
